Cover Illustration

Writing this book has been a deeply personal process for me. I knew instinctively that I also wanted the cover design to represent my journey. Working on the book in Norway, I felt rather displaced from my roots and needed to feel some connection to ‘home’. This sparked the idea of involving my family in this project.
After a very creative brainstorming with my brother, Zarir and sister-in-law Rachita, Rachita agreed to illustrate the book cover. I will always be grateful for this collaboration.
Rachita has captured my feelings, thoughts and the essence of Broer // Bridges brilliantly in the cover illustration. To the left is the Sea Link in my birth city of Bombay, India. And to the right, Ypsilon Bridge in Drammen, Norway, where I have lived for the last 20 years. Held by the full moon in the middle, I can sometimes allow myself to feel at home.
I am still journeying, and for the most part, I travel lightly – rooted in the quiet knowing that home lives in more than one place.
